Luis Almodóvar is a Co-Founder of Ergosuture Corp., a biomedical device company focused on the development of a novel, versatile platform technology with wide applications aimed at expediting and simplifying the suturing process. He currently leads the company’s research and development efforts, constantly engaging in the generation of new intellectual property as well as expanding the company’s technological reach through collaboration with major hospital institutions and successful entrepreneurs in the medical field.
Almodovar received his M.D. degree and neurosurgical training from the University of Puerto Rico. He continued on to complete a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship from the prestigious M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He’s currently the director of the Neuro-Oncology service at the HIMA San Pablo hospital and has been recently chosen to lead the Neurosurgical Oncology Division at the newly constructed University of Puerto Rico’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.
